Bridgestone to Invest $85 Million in Indian Plants, Focus on Premium Tyres

Bridgestone, the Japanese tyre giant, announced on Friday an investment of $85 million (around ₹720 crores) to boost production capacity and capabilities at its two plants in India. According to the company, the investment will increase the annual production capacity at its Pune plant by about 1.1 million tyres by 2029. The company is also preparing to enhance its ability to produce premium tyres at the Indore plant.According to PTI reports, Bridgestone India is also looking to set up a satellite technology center by 2025 at its Pune plant to manufacture “Dan-Totsu” products, consistent with the company’s aim of emerging as the undisputed leader in the industry.
